We didn't get in this shape over night, it ain't gonna be fixed over night either. And both parties are just as guilty. Sitting around doing the boo-hoo sob sob crap won't fix it any faster.

As for me personally, I'm doing my part to help the economy by buying a new laptop sometime over the next week. My country **NEEDS** me to buy this laptop. And I'm sticking to that story!
  • cygnoir · 9 months ago
    Agreed. And which laptop?

Yeah, I love the talk that somehow the GOP just didn't manage to get their message out there. Otherwise things would've been fine by now. If we had just stuck with them!

Their thoughtless contrarian protestations to Obama's every move naturally would indicate that they're just sitting on a freakin' GOLDMINE of fixes for what ails us!! (Which would really mean, let's keep doing the same thing and pretend it's better!)

I'm eating Cocoa Pebbles. My little way of stimulating the economy.

Cocoa Pebbles stimulate *something*, but I'm not sure it's the economy ...

Man, I hate those whingers. ;)
  • cygnoir · 9 months ago
I don't get it. Are you saying that I'm whinging? If so, I think that word does not mean what you think it means.
  • Gunnar · 9 months ago
Oh... I thought we were on the same side of the anti-toilet whinging brigade. Maybe we're all whinging it.

To put it another way: some people haven't had to lower their standard of living recently. What were they doing right? What can we learn from them? (I'm not talking about billionaire bankers.)
  • cygnoir · 9 months ago
Maybe they have mattresses stuffed with cash!
  • Bibliophylax · 9 months ago
Bloody forward-thinking careful contrarian bastards! Why didn't we think of that?
  • laurelkhall · 9 months ago
What am I doing about it...

I'm doing a startup business. That is my contribution. I'm trying to build something from nothing. I'm being creative with my finances, not spending as much, kind of whining about it a little and hoping it doesn't last forever. I'm working hard to make this business fly because if it doesn't I'll be thrown into the employment pool where everyone is on the chopping block from the day they start.

Your blog is interesting and I'm glad I stumbled upon it via Twitter.

Thanks for sharing this. I respect entrepreneurs a great deal, and particularly in this economic climate. You must be quite a tenacious person! Good luck with your business.
